My number one tip for visiting a new city for the first time

Hey there Reader,

Do you have plans this year to visit a new city (or country) that you’ve never been to before?

One of my favourite aspects of travel is discovering a completely new city and its local culture. But knowing where to go and what to see can be complicated and overwhelming.

That’s why I always book a walking tour on my first day in a new city. Walking tours are a perfect way to see the main tourist attractions and learn all about the city’s history from an expert guide in an hour or two.

I recommend researching walking tours for your next travel adventure using either Viator or GetYourGuide. All you have to do is type in the city and you’ll find endless options for tours, activities and more.

What new city are you planning to visit next? Hit the reply button and let me know - I’d love to hear from you!

Thanks for reading and have a great day,

Mark

My travel stories may sound too unbelievable to be true, but I can assure you they are!

Hey Reader! Let me start this email by wishing you a very happy new year! I hope 2025 brings you all that you want and more. What’s the best country you’ve visited where the cuisine totally blew you away? For me it has to be South Korea. South Korea has become a foodie’s paradise in recent times, so knowing which food spots to hit when visiting is a must. I was very lucky to be given a food tour of Seoul from an actual local on my very first day in the country. Read my blog post for all the...

Hey Reader! Firstly, I hope you've had (or are having) a fantastic Christmas holiday break! I'm currently spending my first ever Christmas abroad with my family in Morocco and enjoying the change of scenery - and the weather! 😎 Can you believe 2024 is very nearly at an end? What are your travel highlights from this year? I started the year in January by ticking off one of my travel bucket list destinations - Egypt. In April I chilled in sunny Malta and in August I visited Iceland, which I...

Hey Reader! What’s the craziest, most physically demanding travel adventure you’ve ever experienced? Mine would have to be walking the Camino de Santiago in northern Spain. I decided to walk the camino at the end of a tiring 8 months of solo travelling around the world. But I really underestimated how exhausting the camino would be. Read my blog post: Best Time To Walk Camino de Santiago (& The Worst!) I was down to my very last few hundred euros and I knew that stretching that amount to last...
